It was reported in the Cambridge Chronicle and Journal:

SHEEP STEALING AT HADDENHAM. John Gateson, 21, butcher, was charged with stealing one sheep, the property of Henry Mitchell, sen., at Haddenham, in the Isle of Ely, on the 17th of June last. The prisoner pleaded guilty, and the prosecutor did not press for severe punishment. The court sentenced him to twelve months imprisonment.
