Joseph's father is not named on his marriage certificate and Mary Ann's age is given as 18, although she was actually only 16 at the time of the marriage. Both Joseph and Mary Ann lived in Bank Head, Colne. The marriage was witnessed by Joseph and Sarah Morville.
