Note
At the age of 18, James was 5' 6.5" and had a 33" chest. He had light brown hair, grey eyes and a 'fresh' complexion.
From 24th July 1926 until 1st of July 1927, he served in Ganges first as Boy II and then, from 27 March 1927, as Boy I.
From 27th July 1927 until 19 April 1928, he served on The Emporer of India as Boy I.
From 20th April 1928 until his transfer on 21 December 1928 (the day after his 18th Birthday) he served on the Centaur.
