Note
Annie did not work during her lifetime. She bought up the thirteen children in Napier Close in Crowthorne. I remember she would shop daily for the provisions she needed for dinner at the local supermaket(VG), green grocer (Sworder's) and the butchers. She would buy grandad (James), on a regular basis, a packet of Woodbine cigarettes and a bottle of VP Sherry!
She would buy gifts throughout the year to give to her children and grandchildren at Christmas time. Mum says she would wrap them all up and then decide who to give them to, so it was a bit hit and miss whether you would actually get anything appropriate or useful!
Annie was very tiny by the time she died, probably only about four feet eight inches. She had been taller, but suffered from osteoporosis in her later life.
